Join us on Zoom, Monday Evenings this Fall for a casual discussion
of Help My Unbelief by Fleming Rutledge!
Basho, the great Japanese poet of the Edo period, said, ‘A painting of a rice cake does not satisfy hunger.’ That’s usually how it is when reading sermons. Sermons which are read are just processed like anything else that is read. No deep inspiration. No lasting transformation. That being said, I just came across the single most amazing book of sermons I’ve ever read. The Rev. Ms. Fleming Rutledge is an 85-year-old Episcopal Priest, one of the first female priests ordained in the Episcopal Church back in the 1970s, and her sermons are nothing short of brilliant. They hit me like a ton of bricks, and I find I can’t stop thinking about them during the day and week. Unbelievable.
Let’s read them and discuss them together. Five Monday Nights on Zoom at 7:00 p.m. No prerequisites required. Come for as many as you can. You won’t be sorry.
